About Kelly Patterson
Kelly is a Small Business Financial Counsellor based in the Lockyer Valley. She supports small businesses across Wide Bay Burnett, South East Queensland and Darling Downs in the following locations:
Kelly brings 13 years of experience running her own small businesses in the retail and transport sectors as well as consulting to trade business owners. She has a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by small business owners and how those challenges can overflow into life beyond the business.
With a strong interest in financial literacy, Kelly is passionate about helping people understand their financial position and has several years’ experience working as a Financial Capability Worker in the community services sector. In this role, she enjoyed delivering workshops to high school students and community groups, as well as providing individual support to community members.
When working with business owners, Kelly’s judgement free and empathetic approach ensures they can feel heard, supported and empowered to build confidence and take control of their financial situation. She values working in collaboration with other support services, creating a wraparound approach to ensure support in all aspects of need.
Kelly holds a Diploma of Financial Counselling, along with qualifications in Business Administration and Work Health and Safety.
She works with a team of Financial Counsellors located throughout Southern Queensland.
