About Rod White

Rod is a Small Business Financial Counsellor based on Brisbane northside. He supports small businesses across Wide Bay Burnett, South East Queensland and Darling Downs in the following locations:

With over 20 years’ experience as a sole trader and company director in industries such as event logistics and transport, accommodation and trade services, Rod knows only too well about the challenges of running your own business. Not to mention, the flow on effects these challenges can have on your life outside of the business.

After reaching middle age, Rod made the decision to sell his business and join the Army. After a couple of years, Rod then turned his hand to financial counselling, where he found his passion for community welfare, including assisting people to build resilience and gain control of their finances. Working as a Financial Counsellor, Rod supported a wide range of people, including in disaster relief and charity organisations. Part of Rod’s role with Variety – The Children’s Charity also involved building a financial literacy program for young adults living with a disability who were preparing to leave school.

Rod has a genuine interest in helping business owners to understand where their business is really at. Together with supporting them to find options to gain control and maybe see their business from a different perspective.

When working with business owners, Rod uses a strength-based approach to help them recognise their own strengths and abilities. As well as assisting these business owners to find resources to aid their growth in other areas.

Rod holds a Diploma in Financial Counselling, Diploma in Project Management and is certified in Mental Health First Aid.

Rod loves his coffee and lives with his wife Kath, a cheeky blue staffy, four chickens and a native beehive. He enjoys stand up paddling, jet skiing, camping and doing reno work on his much-loved workers cottage.

He works with a team of Financial Counsellors located throughout Southern Queensland. These services are proudly funded by the Queensland Government and we’re delivering them on their behalf.
